Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL CLASS INFO

Our classes are small – especially our weekly classes which run with only 4-8 participants. We’ve designed our classes this way so that everyone receives individual attention and the opportunity to make friends over the six week period.

We ask you arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the class starting so we can start on time.  If you arrive 30 minutes early and the door is locked – don’t worry – we’re setting up in the kitchen and will be there to open the door 15 minutes before class. We start on time, if you’re late you’ll have to catch up.

In the kitchen you need to wear closed in shoes (non-slip is fantastic!), comfortable clothes and we’ll provide you with an apron – Yay! No laundry for you! We strongly encourage you not to wear rings, bracelets and hanging jewellery in the kitchen.

For most classes attendees will work in pairs with their own cooking station setup, handling their own ingredients and consuming the food prepared. Dishes are prepared and shared by the participants and our chef.  We maintain very stringent hygiene and food safety standards and ask our attendees to cooperate with our directions to maintain these standards.

WHAT IF I HAVE A FOOD ALLERGY?

If you have any concerns about dietary requirements or any of the recipes please contact Julia via email (msjzanetti@icloud.com) or on 0412244911 PRIOR to booking a class.

Whilst every attempt will be made to accommodate individual dietary requirements we are a group class and food is made to share and some recipes being made cannot have ingredients substituted.

Our kitchen produces pastry and breads daily with a heavy presence of nuts and wheat flour in our recipes.  Likewise onion, garlic herbs & spices.

We can prepare gluten free meals on request, but should you be coeliac, please be aware there is always flour particles in the air and particles may also be present on equipment as we bake our own breads and pastries.  If you are coeliac and affected by the use of flour in the same room, unfortunately we request you do not attend.

ARE YOU BYO?

Yes we are a BYO venue, so please bring alcoholic beverages and anything else you would like to enjoy on the day.

Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the kitchen but can be enjoyed at the end of class with the meal we’ve prepared.

With the exception of our Tasting events or Events with provided alcohol we are BYO.

We adhere to all RSA rules and responsibility.  There is water and non alcoholic refreshments available at all our classes and functions.
